EPNS meaning: the mark on silver plate

EPNS stands for Electro Plated Nickel Silver: a thin layer of silver electroplated onto nickel silver, a base alloy. Birmingham Assay Office lists EPNS as a silver-plated mark, not solid silver, and The Silver Society notes makers often set the letters in shields to look like hallmarks.

Silver plate is a thin layer over base metal, so it has almost no melt value. Sell it whole, as decor or for its pattern.
