What does GP / Gold Plated mean?
Under the FTC Guides, 'Gold Plate' or 'Gold Plated' must be preceded by the karat of the plating, and the gold layer must be durable. Mechanically bonded plating qualifies at 1/40 of metal weight; electroplated gold qualifies at a minimum of 0.175 microns of fine-gold equivalent.
